Ethics
Training - Part 1. Estimated time to
complete = 4 hours, (0.4 CEU )
Part
1 is an introduction to a code of ethics for rehabilitation personnel and
exploration of these ethical standards to current practice. For this program,
each participant will be asked to complete the following activities.
A.
Read the CRC or CCWAVES Code of Ethics and describe how each Standard or
Tenet
applies to your current position (job setting).
[It is expected that counselors will choose the CRC code of ethics
(New Version)
and
vocational specialists will choose the CCWAVES code of ethics]. For each Standard or Tenet (CRC = A.1,
A.2, A.3;
CCWAVES = Tenet 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 3.1 etc.) describe how
this standard or tenet applies to your job setting or professional
practice
or
does not, as the case may be. In this way, each learner will have read and
considered each standard or tenets relevance to personal professional
practice. Submit your response to the Instructor for review and
comment.
B.
The University of South Florida Program website (http://luna.cas.usf.edu/~rasch/ethics.html)
and the New CRC Code of Ethics Document present the Principles of Ethical
Practice for rehabilitation
counselors: beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, justice and fidelity.
For this activity, please describe (1) a hypothetical example of the
application of each of the five principles and (2) an example, which would
represent a violation of each principle. A link to the Code of Ethics and
Standards of Practice developed by the Council on Rehabilitation
Counselor Certification (CRCC) is provided to help with this activity.
Submit this report to the Instructor for review and comment.
Following the completion of Part 1, confirmation will be sent to the MDRS Training Division, which will be responsible for awarding the appropriate CEU credit.
